Ways To Get Involved
This ministry focuses on welcoming people into our church family during weekend worship, and many times a smile is all it takes. If you can open a door and say, "Hello!" with a warm heart, this is the ministry for you.
The Christian walk is meant to be shared. That's why we have groups where people can gather together to study God's word, pray, and build encouraging relationships. Consider joining or becoming a facilitator, host, or teacher, and help us take this journey together.
Prayer, both public and private, is the essence of our relationship with Christ, and it is our desire to make sure that we keep this ministry at the forefront of everything we do. We have a private email you can be a part of, or we also minister in prayer to those in need after each Sunday service.
Our focus is to guide people into "spirit and truth" worship (John 4:24). We love to collaborate as a team, making God- glorifying music. If you have musical talent singing or playing an instrument, or even just a willingness to learn, we'd love to invite you into this team.
Even if you're not one to be on stage, there is still a place for you to make worship vibrant on Sunday. There is a lot to do behind the scenes including slides, lights, and sound. We'd love to work with you to make it all happen.
The Facilities Team takes care of the church facilities, both inside and out. If you've got experience fixing, building, and planning, this team is for you. It's all about working hard, having fun, and serving the Lord together.
Godly strength of character is the goal of our Men's Ministry. This team is dedicated to helping men become all God wants them to be. Consider joining an existing small group or leading a new one or attending and helping with the Men's Breakfast once a month.
Our Women's Ministry exists to encourage women in their walk with Christ. Through study of God's Word, prayer, and fellowship, our hope is to journey through life together and introduce more women to our loving Savior. Be a host, discussion leader, mentor, or teacher and experience the joy of serving others with Him.
Our ministry for those 55 and older is served with a meal together each month, Memory Cafe for those with dementia-related difficulties, a service at Milestone Assisted living, and many other ways.
Children loving Jesus... that's our goal. From birth-5th grade, the opportunities include Children's Church & Nursery on Sunday mornings, Wednesday Night kid's classes, MOPS, and Vacation Bible School. Teaching, assisting, or playing with our kids will surely encourage you as you watch the next generation grow closer to the Lord.
The vision of Youth Ministry is to see students become disciples who make disciples. From 6th grade to 12th grade, this is a high energy group and it's exciting to invest your life in the lives of youth. Partner and connect with middle school and high school students on a weekly basis from small groups to large events.
Little Explorers preschool is a Christ- centered education whose mission is to provide a high quality, nurturing, and creative first educational experience for children entering either Pre-K3 or Pre-K4. You don't have to be a member of Northlife to enroll your child.
Much of Jesus' ministry revolved around food. This ministry provides opportunities throughout the year to gather around quality meals for the purpose of fellowship and outreach. Leadership for this team is currently an open position.
Fellowship and food go together (Acts 2:42). Our cafe provides an opportunity for people to enjoy a cup of their favorite brew while getting to know others before and after worship. It is an invaluable part of engaging visitors and making guests feel at home. Help us extend the love of God through the warmth of our cafe.
The goal of this group is to take care of our inside look, feel, set up, and coordination between various ministries. Often, this includes decorating for holidays and events. The function of the team will be to assist ministry leaders to promote the mission of our church through our welcoming environment.
The mission of our Benevolence Ministry is to bring people closer to Jesus Christ through the process of meeting or assisting with their basic financial needs in a time of crisis or transition. This ministry follows Jesus' pattern of meeting felt needs in people's lives as an introduction to meeting their real spiritual need.
Our hope is that serving is part of the DNA of every person in this church from youngest to oldest. This outward- focused ministry serves our local Northwoods area. Through events like Day in the Park, and partnerships like Northwoods Share or New Dawn Pregnancy Resource Center, our goal is to live out the Gospel in word and deed to see God's Kingdom expand.
God loves the world and so do we. The heart of this team is to proclaim the heart of a living God to a dying world. Through communication with our church- supported missionaries, missionary visits, short- term missions and education, we will continue to respond with faith and courage to the Great Commission of our Lord.
We are blessed with a fine selection of books and a wonderful library space. The main library in the foyer serves our church through audio, video, and print materials. In addition, we have a great children's library located by the preschool. If you are organizationally gifted and value these resources, consider serving in this valuable ministry.
God calls His people to use the resources He provides in a wise way. Our Finances Team evaluates how those resources are being invested for God's glory and the good of His church.
The health and safety of all who enter our building is of paramount importance to us. Therefore, we have a team of people who are committed to doing all they can to create a safe and secure environment to those who come to worship with us.
